GILI TRAWANGAN, INDONESIA - The 2025 schedule for the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) in the Gili Islands concluded with the final session on December 10, 2025, marking another successful year for one of Southeast Asia’s most respected professional diver training programs. Led by Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod, the year’s programs equipped dive professionals from around the world with advanced instructional techniques, real-world application strategies, and a career-ready mindset.
Held at Blue Marlin Dive Gili Trawangan, a facility with over 30 years of operational experience, the IDC program, led by Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod, maintained its reputation in 2025 for exceeding global standards in PADI instructor training. Across four scheduled sessions, candidates received personalized instruction in classroom performance, confined and open water teaching, and industry-specific leadership development.
The 2025 PADI IDC sessions were held on the following dates:
- August 6 – August 27, 2025
- September 10 – October 1, 2025
- October 15 – November 5, 2025
- November 19 – December 10, 2025
Each intake welcomed Divemasters seeking to advance into professional teaching roles. With training methods built upon more than 23 years of experience across countries including Indonesia, Honduras, Malaysia, Australia, and the United Kingdom, Holly Macleod provided direct evaluation and mentorship throughout the program. Her record of issuing over 3,500 PADI Instructor certifications in the Gili Islands reflects both the program’s depth and its ongoing relevance in the international diving community.
The IDC structure in 2025 emphasized both standardized PADI curriculum and expanded real-world modules — including adaptive teaching methods, student scenario simulations, and situational problem-solving skills. These components prepared instructors to thrive in dynamic and diverse diving environments across the globe.
Candidates also benefited from the opportunity to continue professional growth through a suite of post-IDC offerings. These included:
- MSDT (Master Scuba Diver Trainer) preparation
- Instructor Specialty certifications
- IDC Staff Instructor development
- Master Instructor (Course Director Preparation) mentorship
The Gili Islands remain a sought-after destination for professional dive education. Crystal-clear waters, consistent marine biodiversity, and a strong local training infrastructure combine to offer an immersive and rewarding environment for both foundational and advanced diving instruction.
As the program looks ahead to 2026, a new series of IDC dates is expected to be announced, continuing the commitment to producing skilled, confident, and globally capable PADI Instructors. With demand for professional scuba educators continuing to grow, especially in Southeast Asia and the Indo-Pacific region, the Gili Islands’ IDC program remains a pivotal gateway for those pursuing excellence in the diving industry.
