SeisWare International Inc. Joins CMC's Joint Industry Partnership Program

Carbon Management Canada

June 27, 2024 – TheNewswire - Carbon Management Canada (CMC) welcomes SeisWare International Inc. to its Joint Industry Partnership (JIP) program. The partnership between SeisWare and CMC highlights the industry’s reliance on high-quality seismic data to measure, monitor and verify carbon dioxide (CO2) stored in sub-surface reservoirs. JIP members can leverage seismic and geological data collected at CMC’s Newell County facility to further permanent storage research and development at home and abroad as Canada pursues its goals for a net-zero future.

This strategic collaboration demonstrates a mutual commitment to enhancing seismic data visualization through accessible software solutions to streamline data interpretation and analysis.

“SeisWare International Inc. is proud to be able to work with CMC as a JIP member. CMC’s work specializing in industrial solutions, research, knowledge-sharing and technology-testing for permanent carbon storage and emissions monitoring, provides us with valuable information on how to best optimize workflows for the CCUS industry,” says Ed Chow, Vice President Business Development and Founder of SeisWare. “We strive to assist in the growth of CCUS worldwide by providing efficient and cost-effective software to meet the geoscience needs of the CCUS industry. Our partnership with CMC is key to SeisWare International Inc. attaining it’s CCUS goals.”

SeisWare joins more than 20 JIP members collaborating to advance Canada’s low-carbon future with CMC.

“We are delighted to have SeisWare join the CMC Joint industry Partnership program through in-kind support of their seismic interpretation software. The SeisWare software will enable CMC researchers to interpret seismic data from the CMC Newell County facility and other CO2 storage research sites. It will also display and interpret time-lapse seismic images showing the growth of the injected CO2 plume within the storage complexes,” says Dr. Don Lawton, Vice President, Research and Operations, CMC.

The Joint Industry Partnership (JIP) is a collaborative program offered through CMC’s 200-hectare Field Research Station in Southern Alberta. SeisWare joins member companies such as BP, Shell, CGG, Chevron, Equinor, Geospace, Cenovus, OptaSense and Enbridge in receiving access to the extensive high-quality CCUS monitoring data and information acquired at the Newell County site, as well as first access to research results from CMC’s experts, researchers from the University of Calgary and other academia partners.
