Instead of delivering a complete novel or mystery all at once, Storyville unfolds each story through 24 physical letters mailed twice a month over the course of a year. The letters are written in character and may include diary pages, newspaper clippings, maps, sketches, telegrams, and other artifacts from the fictional world.
A letter arrives.
A clue appears.
A secret deepens.
Then the story stops.
The reader has to wait.

For much of literary history, waiting was part of reading. Serialized novels appeared in installments. Readers waited for newspapers, magazines, chapters, and letters. Stories had time to linger.
Modern entertainment has largely removed that space.
Entire seasons appear at once. Books download in seconds. One story ends and another begins before the first has had any time to linger.
Storyville moves in the opposite direction.
Each installment arrives through the ordinary mail, tucked between bills, catalogs, and whatever else happens to be in the box that day. There is no notification. No autoplay. No next button.
The envelope simply appears.
Current Storyville collections include Secrets of the Lost Manor, a gothic historical mystery set around an English estate in 1926, and Veil of the Midnight Waltz, a Victorian mystery set in London in 1874. A third collection for young adult readers is in development.
The format draws from epistolary fiction, a long literary tradition in which stories are told through letters, diaries, documents, and other forms of correspondence. Storyville adds one more element: the mail itself.
The reader cannot flip ahead.
A suspicious detail may sit unresolved for two weeks. A character's choice has time to linger. A map can remain on a desk. An earlier letter can suddenly mean something different after the next one arrives.
That space between installments creates something instant entertainment often removes: anticipation.
