Arizona Telehealth Provider Expands Physician-Led Hormone Care for State Residents

-- Telehealth has become an increasingly common way for patients to access healthcare, particularly for services that require ongoing monitoring and follow-up. As virtual care continues to expand, providers are introducing new models designed to improve access while maintaining physician oversight.

One Arizona-based company, AZTRT, is focusing exclusively on hormone health by providing physician-led testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) through a statewide telehealth platform serving Arizona residents.

Medical experts note that testosterone levels may naturally decline with age, although symptoms and treatment needs vary from person to person. Fatigue, reduced motivation, slower recovery after exercise, difficulty maintaining muscle mass, and problems with concentration are among the symptoms that may prompt a medical evaluation. Healthcare providers emphasize that laboratory testing and a comprehensive clinical assessment are necessary before determining whether testosterone replacement therapy is appropriate.

AZTRT's care model combines virtual consultations, laboratory testing, physician review, and ongoing follow-up into a fully online process. Licensed Arizona healthcare providers evaluate laboratory results before recommending treatment, and medications are prescribed only when medically appropriate.

Unlike many national telehealth providers that operate across multiple states, AZTRT limits its services to Arizona. Company representatives say the decision allows providers to focus on local regulatory requirements while maintaining continuity of care throughout treatment.

"We narrowed our focus to one specialty and one state because we believed it would create a better experience for Arizona patients," said Josh Ax, entrepreneur and co-founder of AZTRT. "The goal has always been to provide physician-led care with transparent pricing and consistent follow-up."

Medical oversight is provided by Dr. Ashley Froese, DO, whose background includes direct primary care and telehealth medicine. Dr. Froese said testosterone therapy should always begin with an individualized medical evaluation supported by laboratory testing.

"Testosterone therapy can be an appropriate treatment option when supported by laboratory testing, a medical diagnosis, and ongoing monitoring," Dr. Froese said."Every patient should receive an individualized evaluation, and treatment decisions should be based on established medical standards."

The clinic's process begins with a virtual consultation followed by comprehensive laboratory testing. After reviewing the results, an Arizona-licensed provider determines whether treatment is appropriate based on the patient's medical history and laboratory findings. Follow-up appointments and laboratory monitoring are conducted remotely as part of ongoing care.

According to the company, testosterone replacement therapy is offered at a flat monthly price of $179, which includes initial labs, provider consultations and treatment management. Additional services include physician-supervised medical weight management and other hormone health programs.

Healthcare analysts have noted that virtual care continues to reshape the delivery of routine and ongoing medical services. Telehealth has become particularly valuable for patients who prefer to reduce travel, simplify scheduling, or access care from rural communities where specialty services may be less available.

Hormone health is one area where regular follow-up and laboratory monitoring remain important throughout treatment. Medical organizations continue to recommend that patients receiving testosterone therapy be monitored by licensed healthcare providers to ensure treatment remains appropriate over time.

Company representatives say the Arizona-only model is intended to provide continuity of care by allowing patients to work with healthcare providers licensed within the state while completing appointments from home.

As telehealth adoption continues to increase nationwide, localized virtual care models are becoming an increasingly common approach for healthcare providers seeking to improve accessibility while maintaining physician oversight.
