LOS ANGELES, CA - August 18, 2026 - Sargent Tucker, known to fans as ST, returns with You’re The One For Me, a new full-length album available on physical CD and vinyl. Scheduled for release August 31, 2026, the album reflects Tucker’s enduring passion for Soul and R&B while bringing together heartfelt storytelling, sophisticated lyrics, infectious melodies, soulful grooves, and the musical energy that has become part of his signature sound.
With ten tracks divided into two distinct musical sections, You’re The One For Me takes listeners on a journey through love, memories, personal choices, relationships, and the joy of letting the music move you.
The album opens with five songs centered on meaningful lyrics and emotional storytelling. “You Mean So Much To Me” takes listeners on a reflective journey through memories, while “Follow Your Heart” explores the importance of listening to one’s inner voice when faced with difficult, life-changing decisions. “Let’s Get Away” offers a lighter perspective, imagining the freedom of escaping life’s challenges with someone special.
“Time Will Tell” explores love through a question-and-answer approach, reflecting on the idea that time ultimately reveals the truth. “The Presence of You” focuses on the feeling created by closeness, admiration, and the presence of someone who matters.
The second half of the album shifts toward Soulful R&B, funky dance grooves, and more upbeat tempos.
“We’re In This Love Together” is a song Tucker has regularly performed during his live shows. Over the years, listeners have noted a vocal similarity between Tucker and the late Al Jarreau, inspiring him to record the Al Jarreau classic in his own signature style.
The title track, “You’re The One For Me,” keeps the energy moving with a groove designed for the dance floor. That momentum continues with “U…Can’t Text Love Away” (Radio Mix), the album’s first single, which reached No. 1 on The Urban Influencer Soul and R&B Radio Charts in July 2026.
“Ain’t That Peculiar” carries a personal story of its own. Tucker initially recorded a demo of the Marvin Gaye classic. A week later, producer Jimmy Levine, a close friend of the Gaye family, played the demo for Anna Gaye. After hearing the recording, Anna asked to hear it again. Following the second listen, she told Tucker, “You did Marvin good.” The experience stayed with him and inspired Tucker to record his own master of the Marvin Gaye classic.
The album closes with “One Thing Leads To Another,” continuing the dance-oriented momentum with syncopated rhythms and a funky groove that make it one of the album’s most energetic tracks.
