On July 11, the Changyu 1892 Canada Cultural Experience Center officially opened in Vancouver, Canada. The opening marks another significant milestone in the North American development of Changyu, China’s century-old wine brand, while creating a new platform for China-Canada cultural exchange. Through the experience of fine wine, more overseas consumers will have the opportunity to discover the rich history, cultural heritage, and brand values behind Chinese wine.

Founded in 1892, Changyu is a pioneer of China’s modern wine industry. Over the past 134 years, Changyu has remained committed to quality and innovation, expanding from Yantai, China, to the global market and becoming an internationally recognized symbol of Chinese wine. Today, Changyu products are exported to numerous countries and regions around the world, continuing to share the story of Chinese wine with global consumers.
The newly opened Changyu 1892 Canada Cultural Experience Center focuses on brand history, wine culture, winemaking craftsmanship, and tasting experiences. Through diverse exhibitions and interactive displays, the center presents Changyu’s 134-year development journey and highlights the evolution of Chinese wine culture. More than a brand exhibition space, the center aims to serve as an important gateway connecting China and Canada through cultural exchange.
Demonstrating Changyu’s strong commitment to the Canadian market and international cooperation, Changyu Group Chairman Zhou Hongjiang traveled from China to Vancouver to join distinguished guests from political, business, and overseas Chinese communities in China and Canada to witness this important milestone.

The opening ceremony was attended by Liang Yanmin, Commercial Counselor of the Consulate General of China in Vancouver, Zhang Jinlong from the Consulate’s Science and Technology Office, and Alexa Loo, Councillor of the City of Richmond. Representatives from various business associations and organizations, including the Canada China Chamber of Commerce, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Canada, the Canada Chinese Entrepreneurs Association, the Canada Qilu Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, the Canada Henan Association and Henan General Chamber of Commerce, and the Vancouver Chinese University Alumni Association, as well as representatives from companies including Sichuan Airlines, Air Canada, CTBC Bank Canada, CIBC, RBC, and Sungiven Foods, also attended the event to celebrate the occasion.

During the event, guests engaged in in-depth discussions on brand heritage, international cooperation, and cultural exchange. They explored opportunities for Chinese wine development in global markets and expressed expectations that wine culture could serve as a bridge to further promote people-to-people connections and economic cooperation between China and Canada.

Wine is both an art shaped by time and a language of cultural exchange. From Yantai, China, to Vancouver, Canada, Changyu’s journey across 134 years represents not only the expansion of its global presence but also its enduring commitment to quality, cultural heritage, and its original mission of connecting people around the world.
The official opening of the Changyu 1892 Canada Cultural Experience Center provides Canadian consumers with a new platform to gain deeper insight into Chinese wine culture while creating another milestone in China-Canada cultural exchange. Looking ahead, the center will continue to host brand exhibitions, wine tasting events, and cultural exchange activities, allowing more people to experience the appeal of Chinese brands and the depth of Chinese culture through Changyu wines.
