  • Following the introduction of Invenia™ ABUS Prime at the Society of Breast Imaging Annual Symposium, the installation at BeSound in Los Angeles marks one of the first in the U.S., expanding access to supplemental screening for women with dense breasts
  • ABUS StreamVue™* is a zero-footprint, browser-based reading solution designed to enable remote exam review from virtually anywhere across enterprise imaging networks and high-volume breast centers

GE HealthCare today announced the launch of Invenia™ ABUS (Automated Breast Ultrasound) Prime and ABUS StreamVue™, a redesigned enterprise viewer that recently received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance and CE Marking, expanding its breast imaging portfolio with solutions designed to support supplemental screening for women with dense breasts and provide more flexible enterprise-wide exam review. Together, these new solutions aim to help breast imaging programs standardize 3D ultrasound acquisition, support remote reading, and simplify deployment across multi-site networks.

Studies conducted in the U.S. and Europe show 40% of women have dense breasts1, these women have a 4 to 6 times higher risk of developing breast cancer.2 Dense breasts can make cancers harder to detect on mammography, and may delay diagnosis.3,4,5 Research has shown that mammography may miss one-third of cancers in dense breasts, underscoring the need for supplemental screening options for these patients.6 According to results from the Breast Screening: Risk Adaptive Imaging for Density study, ABUS demonstrated higher acceptance and a more positive patient experience compared to other contrast-enhanced techniques.7

“Invenia ABUS Prime builds on our commitment to advancing supplemental breast screening for women with dense breasts,” said Karley Yoder, CEO, Ultrasound Solutions, Advanced Imaging Solutions, GE HealthCare. “As breast imaging networks look to scale across sites, Invenia ABUS Prime can help deliver streamlined workflows, reproducible imaging, with features designed to support both patient comfort and clinician efficiency.”

When used alongside mammography, Invenia ABUS Prime supports earlier cancer detection.8 Across growing breast imaging networks, the system helps support standardized exams, more efficient workflows and operational consistency, particularly in multi-site imaging environments. Invenia ABUS Prime features:

  • cSound™ Imageformer with AI-enabled tools including Scan Quality Assessment and Auto Nipple Detection—powered by Verisound™ AI—developed to help deliver consistent, reproducible, high-quality scans and greater clinical confidence
  • A Fast Scan tool that increases scan speed by up to 40%, along with a new-generation Reverse Curve™ transducer and selectable compression levels intended to enhance patient comfort and offer a more personalized patient experience9
  • AI-supported reading powered by QVCAD™ is designed to streamline review.10 AI Assistant powered by QVCAD has demonstrated a 33% reduction in reading time11 and up to 93% sensitivity for lesion detection12

ABUS StreamVue is a zero-footprint, browser-based reading solution built to standardize ABUS exam review with remote access and adaptable licensing intended to simplify installation, maintenance and growth for enterprise imaging environments. Candelis, Inc., a leading provider of innovative and cost-effective solutions to hospitals and imaging centers, is collaborating with GE HealthCare to deliver ABUS StreamVue technology in combination with Invenia ABUS. Together with Invenia ABUS Prime, this technology aims to facilitate faster reads, remote reading and easier comparisons across sites, while assisting IT teams in managing ultrasound systems more simply across the enterprise.

“ABUS StreamVue extends the value of our ABUS platform with a flexible reading experience for enterprise imaging environments,” said Russ Behler, Global Product Director, LOGIQ Ultrasound, GE HealthCare. “This solution supports remote review, more standardized presentation, and simpler deployment across care settings.”

Among the first U.S. installations of Invenia ABUS Prime is in Los Angeles at BeSound, which offers a modern breast imaging experience to expand access to supplemental breast cancer screening. BeSound is also planning a mobile screening unit to bring imaging services closer to patients.

“At BeSound, our mission is to make supplemental breast screening more accessible and more convenient for the women who need it,” said Bailey Renger, Founder and CEO, BeSound. “With Invenia ABUS Prime, we hope to expand access to advanced breast imaging in a way that is patient-centered and meets women where they are.”

Invenia ABUS Prime is U.S. FDA Premarket approved and CE Marked. Availability is subject to local regulatory approvals and may vary by country.
