1440 Appoints Former Insider, Amazon Leader as Vice President of Enterprise Sales to Scale Prospering Ads Business

Fast-Growing Media Company Snags Talent From Insider and Amazon Ads to Reach New Enterprise Advertisers and Accelerate Growth

On the heels of record revenue and subscriber growth, 1440, the impartial newsletter read by more than 2.9 million subscribers, today announced it has hired former Insider and Amazon leader Elizabeth Millstein as vice president of enterprise sales, where she will leverage 1440’s unique and engaged audience to forge new partnerships with large enterprises and grow its ad business.

Based in Boston, Millstein will scale 1440’s advertising strategy through its next stage of growth, leveraging her extensive experience and relationships with global advertisers, unlocking exciting growth opportunities for the company. Before joining 1440, Millstein held senior sales roles at Insider, Amazon Ads, The Register and more. Millstein holds a bachelor’s degree from Trinity College-Hartford and has a master's of management from Cambridge College.

“The addition of Elizabeth is a huge coup for 1440 and solidifies our position as a major player in media,” said 1440 Co-founder and CEO Tim Huelskamp. “Where traditional news outlets are struggling to reach profitability and win advertisers, 1440 has been steadily adding hundreds of thousands of subscribers every month and attracting trusted brands with which to partner. Elizabeth will further support our continued expansion to reach new advertisers and drive revenue growth.”

1440 has made a name for itself in a noisy media landscape as the de facto source for impartial daily news. Following a remarkable 5,500% growth rate over the past three years and 100,000+ new subscribers monthly, 1440 has added crucial talent to the team to support its mission.

In addition to Millstein, 1440 has also hired Lauren Routt as its head of social, where she leverages organic social channels to drive audience development. Routt began her career in audience development in New York City working for publications including Backstage Magazine, CNET, and more. Routt earned her undergraduate degree from Haverford College and her Master of Fine Arts from The New School.
