Panevo's ioTORQ software continues to evolve and is primed to unlock further utility & emissions reduction across industrial facilities.
VANCOUVER, BC / ACCESS Newswire / September 4, 2025 / As part of a $2 million collaborative project, Panevo secured funding from Next Generation Manufacturing Canada (NGen) to enhance their ioTORQ Energy Management Information System with additional AI focused functionality.
The initiative will focus on utilities conservation at food processing facilities, where site services such as refrigeration, compressed air, hot water and steam, along with process heat loads, often account for the majority of energy use and GHG emissions. Even when well-monitored, these systems are seldom effectively linked to production assets and other utility drivers, and their control systems often can't analyze vast amounts of real-time data to take corrective actions. Therefore, a precise understanding of instantaneous utility performance is often impossible to achieve and, as a result, opportunities to minimize waste and reduce emissions are missed.
Collaborating with Bimbo Canada, a leader in sustainable food manufacturing, Panevo will deploy AI-driven solutions to boost energy performance as part of an innovative project to transform industrial control & monitoring systems. Comprehensive asset and site services performance data will be collected across multiple facilities to build a comprehensive AI training dataset. Panevo will develop a smart control module within ioTORQ that uses AI to continuously analyze assets, recommend optimal settings, and optimize energy efficiency.
The integration of state-of-the-art AI functionality within existing operational frameworks promises enduring energy and GHG emissions reduction. By embedding AI into everyday operational decision-making, the project will provide a model for Canadian industry to embrace digital transformation and enable sustainability gains and operational cost savings.
Industrial leaders interested in leveraging AI for energy optimization are encouraged to connect with Panevo to explore further partnership opportunities.
