DESCRIPTION:
WSP was honored to participate in design of waterfront PUTTING GREEN, an 18-hole climate change-themed mini golf course in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, now opened to the public. Each individually curated hole showcases a specific climate-related challenge and possible solutions, including WSP’s 16th hole spotlighting the importance of sustainable and equitable public transportation.
WSP’s Developing Professionals Network (DPN) led project planning and design. DPN vice chair and WSP associate consultant, architect, Eric Tauro, said: “When Superstorm Sandy hit New York City on October 29, 2012, it caused widespread damage that we are still working to repair to this day. We embarked on a shared mission to rebuild better and think ahead to how we can better prepare for the future. Fore-ward Thinking presents us with an opportunity and a challenge: to take collective action to slow our output of greenhouse gas emissions and adapt ourselves and our surroundings to reduce climate-related vulnerabilities and chart a path to a more resilient and sustainable future.”
