MDSW Legal received this award after a financial assessment of its growth over the past few years. To qualify for the Roaring Twenties Award, the company had to display marked growth via the submission of tax documents, bank statements, and other related documents to the considering board.
The legal firm came to its award alongside businesses large and small with a presence in South Carolina. The considering committee divided these parties into applicable categories by annual revenue. To be considered small, businesses had to make less than $10M per year. Large businesses made $10M or more.
Moreover, businesses that became eligible for the Roaring Twenties award had to indicate that they:
- Were not affiliated with the federal or state government
- Operated either as a for-profit business or a non-profit institution
- Did not qualify for classification as a charitable organization
To make deliberations fair between large and small businesses, SC Biz News considered each business's growth from two perspectives: that of their revenue and that of that revenue's percentile value, compared to the business's size. Deliberations ran from April 1st, 2022, at which point nominations for the award closed.
The 40 fastest-growing businesses in South Carolina were announced and celebrated in October 2022. SC Biz News posted an article declaring business leaders in both the small and large categories to go alongside similar postings from the award's previous years.
