Americana Jiu-Jitsu Collective delivered a remarkable performance at one of the region’s most competitive Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments, held on October 4, 2025. Out of fifteen competitors representing the academy, twelve earned medals, showcasing the depth of dedication, skill, and teamwork that defines the Yucca Valley martial arts community.
The tournament brought together over 800 participants and more than 75 academies, creating a highly competitive atmosphere across all divisions. Despite being one of the smaller teams in attendance, Americana Jiu-Jitsu Collective stood out with its disciplined approach and supportive team culture, ultimately securing third place overall in the Kids No-Gi Division.
For many of the academy’s students, this event marked their first-ever competition experience. Ages ranged from six years old to adult divisions, with competitors dedicating weeks of preparation to balance demanding training schedules alongside school, work, and family responsibilities. The results reflected not only athletic talent but also the perseverance and character-building that martial arts training promotes.
Head Instructor and founder Coach Michael Rialmo expressed pride in the team’s accomplishments, noting the courage it takes for new competitors to step onto the mats. “Competing takes real courage. Watching students face their nerves, trust their training, and walk away with both medals and newfound confidence was incredible. The podium results are rewarding, but the personal growth behind them is what truly matters,” Rialmo said.
The success also highlighted the growing influence of Americana Jiu-Jitsu Collective within the local martial arts community. The academy has become a trusted destination for individuals and families across Yucca Valley and surrounding areas who seek structured, empowering martial arts education. Students are encouraged not just to compete, but to cultivate focus, respect, and resilience — skills that extend beyond the mats.
Coach Rialmo added that the transformation after a student’s first tournament is often profound. Many return with greater confidence and a deeper understanding of what consistent effort can achieve. “The energy after an event like this is inspiring,” he said. “Students come back ready to set new goals and push their limits in every aspect of life.”
Americana Jiu-Jitsu Collective offers year-round programs in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Muay Thai Kickboxing, and Mixed Martial Arts for all ages and skill levels. The academy’s family-oriented environment, guided by professional instruction and community values, continues to attract individuals seeking growth through discipline, movement, and connection.
