City of Dallas takes aim at housing issues through budget process

Houses in Dallas, overall, aren't getting any younger, and tens of thousands are starting to look and feel worse for the wear. Some just need a little love. Others need to be demolished and replaced. The city has programs for repairs and, in extreme cases, replacement of older, dilapidated houses, but the funds are limited and allocating the dollars can be difficult.
