Oversubscribed round brings total capital raised to over $100 million; additional capital will allow firm to continue to scale production & commercial deployments
DG Matrix, the global leader in solid-state transformer solutions, today announced the close of its $60 million Series A funding. Engine Ventures led the oversubscribed round, with participation from Helios Climate Ventures, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd., Fine Structure Ventures, MCJ and Sabanci Climate Ventures. All existing investors committed new capital in this round, including ABB, the global technology leader in electrification and automation.
This milestone brings DG Matrix’s total capital raised to over $100 million, accelerating the company’s mission to transform power infrastructure for AI data centers and mass electrification.
The funding comes at a critical inflection point for global energy infrastructure. As AI workloads drive unprecedented electricity demand and legacy grid technology struggles to keep pace, DG Matrix has commercialized the world’s first multi-port solid-state transformer to solve these constraints. The company’s Interport™ platform accelerates time-to-power from years to months, delivering pulse-load-ready infrastructure that integrates solar, battery, generator, and grid power seamlessly, at scale, anywhere in the world.
“This Series A marks our transition from breakthrough technology to scaled infrastructure deployment,” said Haroon Inam, CEO of DG Matrix. “We are working with hyperscalers, energy companies, and industrial customers across North America and globally, with multiple gigawatt-class datacenters in the pipeline. This capital will scale our manufacturing and supply chain, expand our team, and accelerate deployments supporting the explosive growth of AI data centers and electrification. We’re setting a new benchmark for how large-scale power systems are designed, deployed, and managed.”
Accelerating Commercial Scale
The Series A capital will fund DG Matrix’s next phase of growth, including scaling manufacturing and supply chain operations for the Interport platform, expanding engineering, sales, and field deployment teams, advancing UL, IEEE, and international certifications to unlock global markets, and deepening strategic partnerships with datacenter developers, hyperscalers, utilities, and industrial customers.
“DG Matrix represents exactly the kind of infrastructure innovation the energy transition demands,” said Michael Kearney, PhD, General Partner at Engine Ventures. “Its solid-state transformer platform solves real bottlenecks in power deployment for AI and electrification, not in theory, but in commercial deployments today. We’re proud to lead this round and support the team as they scale to meet extraordinary market demand.”
Growing Market Momentum
DG Matrix has positioned itself at the center of cleantech innovation in the AI era. The company recently announced a strategic partnership with Exowatt, the next-generation renewable-energy company backed by a16z and Sam Altman, to deploy gigawatt-scale, behind-the-meter power systems for hyperscale data centers. Exowatt has selected DG Matrix’s Interport as the preferred power-conversion platform for its modular P3 generation and storage systems, validating the technology’s ability to meet the rigorous uptime and power quality standards of modern AI compute.
Additionally, DG Matrix was named to the 2026 Global Cleantech 100 and announced a strategic collaboration with PowerSecure, a subsidiary of Southern Company, to deliver next-generation energy systems nationwide. These milestones underscore growing market validation for the company’s approach to solving grid constraints and enabling faster, more resilient power infrastructure.
"DG Matrix has achieved what the industry has pursued for decades: a multi-port solid-state transformer that fundamentally changes how electricity is managed and distributed," said by Daniel Doimo, Partner at Helios Climate Ventures that invests at the intersection of technology, innovation, and energy. "DG Matrix's Interport platform is not an incremental upgrade, it is the modern grid architecture required to power AI data centers and mass electrification at scale."
