Marisa Joss Joins SJW Group as Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary

SJW Group (NYSE: SJW) announced today that Marisa Joss has joined the company as Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary. In this role and as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, Marisa will be responsible for providing advice and support to both SJW and its subsidiaries, along with their boards of directors in the areas of legal and risk management, corporate governance, and securities laws.

Eric W. Thornburg, Chair, President and CEO of SJW Group, stated, “Marisa is a seasoned professional with substantial experience in the utility industry, having served for many years at Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. Prior to joining SJW Group, Marisa served as Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary for Eleusis, a biotech company based in New York and London, England. She also spent over a decade at Consolidated Edison with extensive experience supporting the board of directors and providing advice and counsel in governance and compliance matters. Prior to this, she was Corporate Counsel for The Pepsi Bottling Group, Inc.

Marisa attended the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She also has a JD from New York Law School, where she was a member of the school’s Law Review and a Merit Scholarship recipient. She is originally from Pretoria, South Africa.
