Kinetic Engine Systems, Inc. ("Kinetic" or the "Company"), a leading independent Tier 1 supplier of highly engineered engine components for the aerospace and defense markets, today announced the appointment of Ty Mortensen as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Mortensen succeeds Scott Ransley, who is retiring after serving as Kinetic’s CEO since 2022.

Mr. Mortensen brings nearly three decades of operating leadership experience across complex, highly engineered manufacturing environments in the aerospace and defense, energy, and medical equipment industries. During a 20-year career at GE, he spent six years with GE Aviation, ultimately leading four manufacturing plants and more than 1,000 employees producing components and supporting assembly and test operations for commercial and military aircraft engines. He later held senior operations leadership roles at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where he led global, multi-site operations spanning ten manufacturing sites and more than 2,000 employees. Most recently, he served in a senior supply chain leadership role at Insulet.

"I am honored to join Kinetic and excited to work alongside this talented team," said Ty Mortensen. "Kinetic's differentiated capabilities, technically complex products, and trusted customer relationships provide a strong foundation, and I look forward to building on it as we support our customers' most important programs. I’m appreciative of the trust placed in me by both the Kinetic and Arlington teams, and I am excited about what we will accomplish together."

"Ty is an outstanding operational leader with a deep understanding of complex manufacturing and a demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams, improve execution, and scale organizations," said Peter Manos, a Managing Partner at Arlington Capital Partners. "His experience leading sophisticated manufacturing operations across aerospace and other highly regulated end markets makes him an excellent fit for Kinetic."

"Kinetic is a leading supplier of mission-critical engine components, with differentiated capabilities in difficult-to-manufacture rotating, hot-section and high-pressure parts," said Bilal Noor, a Managing Director at Arlington Capital Partners. “The Company’s technical capabilities, longstanding relationships with all of the world’s leading aero-engine OEMs, and positions on many of the industry’s most important commercial and defense platforms reinforce its role as a strategic partner across the aero-engine supply chain. We are excited to partner with Ty as Kinetic advances into its next phase of growth.”
