Celebrated author, A. Keith Carreiro is leading with imagination and intellect, exploring "The Immortality Wars" and the art of creativity in writing.
SWANSEA, MA, September 19, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Award-winning author, educator, and creativity scholar Dr. A. Keith Carreiro is set to inspire an international audience at the 2025 International Dublin Writers' Festival, taking place September 19–21. His featured presentation, MindWeaving for Writers: A Glimpse into Creativity, will explore the intersection of creativity and critical thinking, the importance of writing communities, and the sweeping vision behind his acclaimed nine-book series, The Immortality Wars.
A master of both the literary and academic worlds, Carreiro has devoted decades to studying and teaching the ways creative awareness can be cultivated, sustained, and refined. His work—rooted in research, artistry, and deep human insight—has guided countless writers toward unlocking their full imaginative potential.
"We can be critical while being creative, and creative while being critical," Carreiro says. "The beauty is in learning to weave those threads together until they form something entirely new—something that moves both the writer and the reader."
The Immortality Wars: A Saga of Faith, Science, and the Human Spirit
Carreiro's most ambitious literary undertaking, The Immortality Wars, is a genre-defying series that fuses elements of Christian-based science fiction, fantasy, and spiritual thriller. At its heart, the series is an epic exploration of the human condition—examining the battle between faith and disbelief, hope and cynicism, and the enduring question of whether virtue can overcome evil.
The premise was born from a bold thought experiment: What if the great figures of the American Revolution—George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John and Abigail Adams—were transported centuries into the future to witness an alien world of advanced technology and complex moral dilemmas? From that spark, Carreiro built an intricate universe spanning from Earth's past to a 26th-century exoplanet civilization.
"Arthur C. Clarke once said that any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic," Carreiro reflects. "I wanted to push that notion further—into questions of morality, belief, and the fragility of human hope in the face of unimaginable change."
The series, already earning literary awards and critical acclaim, is praised for its depth of worldbuilding, philosophical underpinnings, and richly drawn characters. Readers have called it both thrilling entertainment and a deeply moving meditation on humanity's future.
MindWeaving™: Cultivating Creativity in Writers
At the Dublin festival, Carreiro's session will center on his MindWeaving™ process, formally called NcepTioN–MindWeaving. This approach blends "appraisive" (divergent) and "prescriptive" (convergent) thinking into a dynamic creative state. It invites writers to:
· Cultivate the craft of creativity.
· Explore a deeper knowing of artistry.
· Experience heightened creative awareness.
By integrating critical inquiry with artistic exploration, Carreiro helps writers break through mental blocks, refine their narrative instincts, and access what he calls "the invincible summer" within—a nod to the Albert Camus quote that inspires much of his teaching.
From Classical Guitar to Literary Legacy
Carreiro's creative journey began with classical guitar, a discipline that honed his sense of rhythm, structure, and emotional expression. After earning his master's and doctoral degrees from Harvard Graduate School of Education in the early 1990s, he spent over a decade teaching across the United States at universities and colleges including National-Louis University, Northern Arizona University, and Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he achieved tenure.
In 2002, he returned to Swansea, Massachusetts, stepping back into the halls of his former high school to teach English for the next three years. His impact on students was profound—the Class of 2005 dedicated its yearbook to him, an honor he still regards as the greatest teaching recognition of his career. From there, Carreiro expanded his influence to higher education, serving as an adjunct professor at Bristol Community College from 2005 to 2020, and continuing to inspire students as a longtime adjunct professor at Bridgewater State University, where he has taught since 2010.
A Future Still Unfolding
Currently at work on The Pilgrim – Part II, Carreiro sees The Immortality Wars as more than a story—it's a mirror for our times and a challenge to imagine a future worth striving for.
"We are at a turning point as a civilization," he notes. "The choices we make now—about technology, faith, and how we treat one another—will determine whether we rise to meet our potential or falter under the weight of our own creation."
As he prepares to address writers, readers, and thinkers from around the globe in Dublin, Carreiro's mission is clear: to inspire, to provoke thought, and to encourage a community of creators who value both the heart and the mind in their work.
