What Happened?

Shares of material handling equipment manufacturer Columbus McKinnon (NASDAQ: CMCO) jumped 5.9% in the afternoon session after the company announced an amendment to its credit agreement to reprice its $1,453 million Term Loan B and $500 million revolving credit facility.

According to a company press release and under the terms of the credit agreement amendment completed on September 21, 2026, the applicable interest rate margin across both facilities was reduced by 50 basis points. As a result, the rate on the Term Loan B, which is due February 3, 2033, was set at SOFR plus 3.00% per annum. Columbus McKinnon stated that the repricing is expected to reduce its annual cash interest expense by at least $7.3 million.

What Is The Market Telling Us

Columbus McKinnon’s shares are extremely volatile and have had 36 moves greater than 5% over the last year. In that context, today’s move indicates the market considers this news meaningful but not something that would fundamentally change its perception of the business.

The biggest move we wrote about over the last year was about 2 months ago when the stock gained 41.1% on the news that the company reported an impressive “beat and raise” second-quarter 2026 results that blew past Wall Street’s expectations. The company delivered exceptional top-line growth this quarter, driven largely by its recent acquisition of Kito Crosby. Net sales skyrocketed 125% year-over-year to $531.5 million, while adjusted earnings per share came in at $0.61—crushing Wall Street's forecast of just $0.27. Adding fuel to the post-earnings optimism, management lifted full-year guidance across the board, raising their outlook for sales, adjusted EBITDA, and EPS. Overall, this was a strong quarter showing the company is executing as planned.

Columbus McKinnon is down 4.7% since the beginning of the year, and at $16.39 per share, it is trading 29.6% below its 52-week high of $23.27 from February 2026. Investors who bought $1,000 worth of Columbus McKinnon’s shares 5 years ago would now be looking at only $383.48.

ONE MORE THING: The $21 AI Application Stock Wall Street Forgot. While Wall Street obsesses over who’s building AI, one company is already using it to print money. And nobody’s paying attention.

AI chip stocks trade at ridiculous valuations. This company processes a trillion consumer signals monthly using AI and trades at a third of the price. The gap won’t last. The institutions will figure it out. You need to see this first. Read the FREE Report Before They Notice.
