1. The book is the story of my life, from 1947 until 2025. It details my education, military, and time as a high school teacher. Moreover, it is reflective, introspective, and as truthful as an autobiography can be. Specifically, I address my foibles, excuses, and rationalizations, while being careful not to make it appear as if I'm fishing for compliments.
2. The format of the book is unique, in that I tell the story in art, poetry, and prose. Furthermore, every drawing and word of the story comes from my hand, and covers the second half of the 20th century, and the first quarter of the 21st century. It is perhaps interesting because it is a raw account of a baby boomer, negotiating the schools, military, and social systems of the time.
3. It is relevant because the account of my journey, with all its twists and turns, is similar to the struggles of other boomers, with lessons that even apply to young people coming up today. It is relevant because of the attempt at honesty in facing the truth about yourself, your motivations, your goals - it is relevant because those things are necessary for real personal growth.
4. My book is unique because the story is told in poetry, art, and prose narratives. Furthermore, there is a smattering of history, opinion, and humor.
