Dr. Reagan Flowers has devoted more than two decades of her life's work as a Visionary Educator and a proficient Program Administrator. She is an expert in STEM education and consulting services for the educational needs of students. Dr. Flowers is a dynamic, results-driven leader who has demonstrated success as an Educational Innovator and in every role, she has ever served. Reagan Flowers has certainly proven herself as an extraordinary and driven leader.
As Chief Knowledge Officer for ECS, she advises clients such as national foundations, educational institutions, and Fortune 500 companies on education innovation, diversity and inclusion, and workforce development. Dr. Flowers' mission and passion are to work with organizations tasked with tackling difficult issues such as equitable education, social mobility, economic disparity, and diversity and inclusion. Over her career, she has been able to leverage her love for STEM, education, and people to successfully advocate for access to the right opportunities for those who need it most.
Dr. Flowers founded C-STEM Teacher and Student Support Services, Inc. in 2002 to assist students in achieving complete mastery of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through interactive projects encouraging creativity, open communication, and curiosity. C-STEM develops comprehensive STEM Educational Toolkits and curricula for students in grades PreK-12, assisting educators and school districts across the continent. During C-STEM's first five years of operation, she spearheaded fund development and increased the annual program budget from $10,000 to more than $500,000.
Her STEM Education instruction emphasizes communication and project-based experiential learning. Dr. Flowers is dedicated to actively collaborating with colleagues and community members to broaden opportunities and improve educational outcomes for all students. Dr. Flowers' programs have guided and supported the development of STEM instructional leaders, aided in school design, increased community engagement, and incorporated specialized technology tools and resources. She has successfully increased minority and female STEM engagement and provided public policy advocacy and scaled programs.
Dr. Flowers is active on the frontlines of education and workforce development issues in addition to her successful career. Her leadership led to her election to the Houston Community College System's Board of Trustees. Dr. Flowers has served as interim Chair of the HCC Board. She has a distinguished record of advocacy, community stakeholder engagement, and business understanding. She has chaired the Audit Committee and has oversight over a $400 million oversight budget.
Dr. Flowers has been a member of the American Leadership Forum's National Board for seven years and a member of the City of Bellaire Patron's Board, which supports the environment, for two years. She previously served as Chairman of the TBEC STEAM Education Sub-Committee for Education for three years and received an appointment to the Houston Public Library HALAN Board for Education for five years. Dr. Flowers serves as a steering committee member of the Smithsonian Science Education Center’s Minority Leadership in Science Education STEM Initiative. Dr. Flowers founded STEMcast, a podcast with over 6,000 listeners in 42 countries.
Dr. Flowers is a Texas Certified Classroom Teacher and School Counselor. In 2000, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas Southern University and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University. Dr. Flowers later earned a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership/Systems from Union Institute & University in 2006.
Dr. Flowers' areas of expertise include serving as a Transformational Leader with a proven track record of building relationships and productive partnerships and bridging the STEM achievement gap that affects minorities and female students. Dr. Flowers serves as a Motivational Manager, assisting staff and students in developing their talents while overseeing C-programs STEMs and operations. Dr. Flowers has maximized the benefits for students and faculty by effectively raising funds and managing program budgets, which she attributes to her expert financial and business management skills.
Dr. Flowers has received numerous awards and accolades throughout her remarkable career and has been recognized in numerous publications and magazines worldwide for her outstanding leadership roles and commitment to the Education Industry. She was featured in TIP Magazine and was broadcast on the famous Reuters Building in Times Square, New York. In 2022, she received the prestigious IAOTP Lifetime Achievement Award and was featured on the famous Planet Hollywood Billboard on the iconic Las Vegas Strip. This year, the International Association of Top Professionals will consider her for an exclusive interview on TIP Radio (IAOTP).
Dr. Flowers has received numerous honors, including being named a White House STEM Access Champion of Change in 2014. She was named a STEMconnector in 2012 as part of the 100 Women Leaders in STEM initiative. Dr. Flowers was a WISE Global Award Finalist in 2011 at the World Innovation Summit for Education and has received numerous other honors for cultivating change and instilling STEM educational processes.
Looking back, Dr. Flowers attributes her success to her desire to learn, her persistence to lead, a commitment to attaining specific goals, and the mentors she has had the honor to work alongside. She upholds high standards of integrity in all her professional and personal endeavors and is dedicated to developing the next generation of leaders. When she is not working, she enjoys traveling the world, cooking, and spending time with her family. In the future, Dr. Flowers will continue making a difference in people's lives through her educational support and knowledge.
