Zero Censorship Search Engine, Free Speech Google/Bing Alternative Announced

Virtual World Computing, LLC, the developer of the TUSK web browser, has announced the launch of a "freedom-first" search engine, TUSK Search.

TUSK Search is now accessible to users of the TUSK browser and the general public. While originally designed for conservative Americans, the search engine is expected to benefit citizens from countries that restrict access to content.

"A free speech search engine is a search engine that allows users to find information without censorship," Virtual World Computing stated on its website. "This type of search engine is especially important in countries with strict censorship rules and regulations, as it allows the free flow of information."

TUSK Search enables users to access any type of information or content freely and without worry of being tracked or monitored by entities collecting personal data.

It was developed using the open-source Chromium project, giving TUSK Search some visual resemblances to Chrome. Virtual World Computing, however, said that the browser underwent extensive modification to safeguard users' online privacy while allowing Chrome extensions to function normally.

TUSK Search is also equipped with a "bias slider," allowing users to determine where search results fall in the political spectrum. For instance, selecting "left" will only bring up search results from platforms and publications known to take a left-leaning stance. One can also choose "center" to find results that take a more moderate position.

"You don't have to worry about being censored, monitored, or confined to a sandbox of 'approved' information. You'll have the power to access any content, anytime you want," the company stated.

Virtual World Computing is a privately held company led by founder and serial entrepreneur Jeff Berman. No stranger to privacy issues and browser technology, Mr. Bermant is also the creator of Cocoon, a browser that allows users to access geo-restricted websites, which was launched in 2019.

According to him, TUSK is the latest addition to a growing number of "free speech" apps that offer conservative and privacy-conscious users an alternative to apps developed by "big tech" companies.

TUSK Search is available by default in the TUSK browser and can be accessed using any browser by logging on to https://tusksearch.com/
