OrbitsIQ Global (OIQ) and AVL have announced the launch of a multi-continent data acquisition campaign across North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, designed to validate reliable high-volume data transmission using hybrid terrestrial and non-terrestrial connectivity.

The campaign will demonstrate how OIQ’s AI-driven MOVE smart-switching solution enables continuous, bi-directional data transfer from moving vehicles by intelligently switching between available cellular and satellite networks.

Validating Connectivity at Scale

As modern vehicles generate increasing volumes of sensor data, ensuring reliable transmission from road to cloud has become a critical challenge.

During the campaign, AVL test vehicles equipped with LiDAR, radar, and high-definition cameras will collect data at rates of 5–6 GB per hour. OIQ’s connectivity layer ensures that this data is uploaded to cloud infrastructure in near real time, even across regions with inconsistent terrestrial network coverage.

Test routes will span diverse environments across North America, from dense urban corridors to remote and low-connectivity regions, providing a comprehensive real-world validation of hybrid network performance.

At the core of the project is OrbitsIQ Global’s ability to:
