Orion Strategies, a nationally recognized strategic communications firm specializing in energy, large industrial projects, and infrastructure, has announced the expansion of its Columbus, Ohio office with the addition of Prescott Carey, Senior Manager, and Tyler Harmon, Manager. Carey and Harmon will support the firm’s growing project portfolio across the Midwest including Ohio, bringing with them significant experience in state government and public affairs.

Carey most recently served as District Director for Congressman Mike Rulli (OH-6) where he led district operations, oversaw district services, and coordinated stakeholder engagement across Ohio’s 6th Congressional District. Carey managed federal casework and advised on the regional impact of energy and commerce policy, while building partnerships with public, private, and nonprofit leaders to advance energy, infrastructure, and economic development initiatives throughout underserved areas.

Harmon previously served for five years as a Legislative Aide in the Ohio House of Representatives for State Representative Jean Schmidt, where he worked as Clerk for the House Health and Families and Aging Committee and championed the development and advancement of legislation. He worked closely with stakeholders, policy advisors, and caucus leadership to shape policy initiatives across multiple General Assemblies. Harmon also drafted legislative materials and briefings for Schmidt, while overseeing office operations, constituent services, and junior staff.

Their combined expertise in legislative processes, stakeholder engagement, and Ohio’s political landscape will further strengthen Orion’s ability to deliver strategic counsel and execute successful energy and infrastructure initiatives across the U.S.

“Orion Strategies is continuing to build on its momentum, and we are excited to expand our Columbus office with the addition of Prescott and Tyler,” said Curtis Wilkerson, CEO of Orion Strategies. “As our portfolio grows rapidly, it is essential that we bring on individuals with deep experience and backgrounds in Ohio state politics. Prescott and Tyler each bring valuable insight, relationships, and strategic expertise that will strengthen our team and support our clients across the region.”

Orion Strategies is a strategic communication firm that was formed 19 years ago and has built a national reputation advising energy projects across the country. The firm presently has projects in 20 states.
