Strategic Transaction Marks a Milestone in Leste’s Long-Term Strategy to Build Institutional-Grade Real Estate Lending Platforms

Leste Group (“Leste”), a global alternative investment manager, today announced that it welcomes Castlelake, L.P. (“Castlelake”), a global alternative investment manager specializing in asset-based private credit, as a majority owner of Resfin Partners (“Resfin”), the holding company that owns and operates Eastview, a U.S. mortgage correspondent business, and Lendmarq, an established lender to the U.S. residential investment community. Leste, which acquired and invested in Eastview and Lendmarq in their early stages as part of its real estate debt origination strategy, remains a shareholder of Resfin.

Leste acquired Eastview and Lendmarq in 2020 with a clear mandate: to create best-in-class platforms for flexible financing solutions serving residential real estate entrepreneurs across the U.S. Built on a disciplined, common-sense approach to lending and underwriting, both the Eastview and Lendmarq platforms have scaled significantly since inception.

For Leste, Castlelake’s transaction validates the investment thesis and operational effort that went into the formation of Eastview and Lendmarq from their very early stages. The transaction also underscores Leste’s broader strategy of building and scaling specialized origination businesses that attract world-class institutional capital partners.

“We believe that Castlelake’s decision to deepen its commitment — moving from primary customer to majority shareholder — reflects the institutional quality and growth trajectory that Leste sought to develop in both platforms,” said Stephan de Sabrit, Managing Partner of Leste Group. “As a continued shareholder in Eastview and Lendmarq, Leste remains committed to supporting Resfin’s long-term success and believes both platforms are well-positioned to accelerate their growth in the U.S. residential lending market.”
