Ayco Farms Is Not Recalling Cantaloupe

The cantaloupe recall that has generated alarming headlines in news media this week is not a current event. There is no active recall. Ayco Farms, Inc. is issuing this statement because news media coverage this week has incorrectly characterized the recall as ongoing, when it is not.

WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED

Every product and environmental sample collected — including all Ayco Farms lots tested by FDA investigators in the United States — tested negative for Salmonella. The small number of cantaloupes that were distributed to four states between December 12, 2025, and January 16, 2026 and subsequently voluntarily recalled never tested positive for Salmonella. They were pulled from the market strictly as a precaution, not because contamination was ever confirmed.

WHAT CONSUMERS NEED TO KNOW

There is no action required of any consumer. Ayco Farms remains committed to the highest standards of food safety, transparency, and regulatory compliance.
