South Carolina Facility Part of Large-Scale Investment UDT is Making to Help Customers Better Manage & Extend the Lifecycle of Devices
UDT (United Data Technologies), a national technology solutions leader focused on delivering managed services, enterprise IT and telecommunication solutions, announced the opening of a brand new, state-of-the-art integration and repair center that will be based in South Carolina to serve the Southeast United States while adding capacity and redundancy for nationwide customer operations.
The new Columbia Integration and Repair Center will focus on supporting UDT’s Lifecycle Services, which help customers better manage their sizable technology fleets, including PCs, workplace and classroom technology, and more. All of this is with an eye toward maximizing user productivity, lowering operational costs, and streamlining device support.
“When the Pandemic hit, the way students learned and workers functioned forever changed. But now, several years later, we are seeing the new demands this puts on school districts, colleges and universities, state & local government, and commercial enterprises,” said UDT CEO Henry Fleches. “Customers are having to manage substantially larger fleets of devices, quickly repair and refresh devices, lower costs and more – all without disrupting operations. The facility in South Carolina will play a huge role as we rollout our Lifecycle Services program nationwide designed to tackle exactly these issues for customers.”
Located in Irmo, SC the facility will have the capacity to process up to 30,000 devices per month. In addition, it will provide redundant capacity to other UDT integration and repair centers in the event of unforeseen disruptions or spikes in demand. This significant investment also shows UDT’s deep commitment to the area. The facility will be operational in early July.
“We are thrilled this new, state-of-the-art integration and repair facility is coming online right here in South Carolina. It’s a gamechanger not just for us but for the entire Southeast United States to have this sort of capacity in such close proximity,” said Tommy Carter, Chief Technology & Innovation Officer of Richland School District Two.
Among other duties, the center will handle repair of customers’ fleets of devices, as well as provide new product imaging, asset tagging, etching and delivery, along with climate-controlled, secure storage of UDT customers’ products as needed.
“We are proud to be able to make an investment of this size in South Carolina,” continued Fleches. “Opening up a new operations center here was a strategic decision that will allow us to better serve customers in a part of the country where we are growing by leaps and bounds. Most importantly, it will enable UDT to better help customers get the most out of their technology investments.”
In its 30th year as a company, UDT has long been a leading technology solutions partner to K-12 schools, college and universities, state and local government and the commercial sector. While other companies simply provide a limited set of products or services, UDT provides a complete spectrum of tailored technology solutions.
