The capital will expand capacity at Ionic MT’s 74,000-square-foot facility in Provo, UT, accelerating production of two high performance battery materials:

  • Ionisil™: A nano-silicon anode material engineered for next-generation electric vehicle (EV) and defense batteries.
  • IonAl™: A high-purity boehmite alumina used in battery separators and advanced technical ceramics.

Ionic MT sources its proprietary, high-purity halloysite clay from its Halloysite Hills & Silicon Ridge resources in Utah and processes it in-house using proprietary, low carbon methods. This fully integrated model improves capital efficiency, reduces reliance on foreign supply chains, and aligns with U.S. industrial and national security priorities.

Strategic Use of Funds

  • Ionisil™ Nano-Silicon Anode Material: Production will scale to 1,000 metric tons annually, supporting Gen-2 sample qualification with global battery OEMs and suppliers. Ionic MT’s patented, silane-free magnesiothermic reduction process delivers anode material with energy capacities exceeding 2,500 mAh/g, positioning the company as a cost-efficient alternative to current silicon anode producers.
  • IonAl™ High-Purity Boehmite Alumina: Production capacity will increase to 5,000 metric tons annually. IonAl™ is a high-margin co-product essential for lithium-ion battery separators and advanced ceramics. Commercial shipments and positive cash flow are forecast for 2026, offering a domestic supply alternative to imported alumina.

With funding in place and production expansion underway, Ionic MT is advancing toward key commercial milestones in 2025 and 2026, including product validation with Tier-1 partners in the EV, battery, and defense sectors.
