The grant—paired with marketing support and volunteer engagement—will expand wraparound services in Broward County and launch a nationwide Volunteer Mobilization Strategy, equipping churches, businesses, and civic groups to walk alongside moms navigating crisis.

Founded by PCI owners Arturo and Susan Echarte, the Powerhouse Fund strengthens communities through philanthropic investments.

“Our goal in launching the PCI Powerhouse Fund was to be a force for good—powering change where it’s needed most,” said Arturo and Susan Echarte. “We’re inspired by ĒMA’s work and honored to support their journey.”

The ĒMA team was recently hosted at PCI’s headquarters for a facility tour, marketing strategy session, and check presentation.

“This partnership arrives at a time when mothers across the nation are facing unprecedented challenges,” said Katrina Robb, Vice President of Advancement at ĒMA. “PCI’s investment will help us surround more moms with the support they deserve.”

One example of impact is Kelly, a mother who spent nearly 20 years in and out of jail due to addiction. With the support of her volunteer Advocate Lindsay, Kelly completed an ĒMA parenting course while incarcerated, gave birth to a healthy baby boy, and has since built a stable life and embraced sobriety.

“Next to the birth of my own daughters, Kelly’s story means the most to me,” Lindsay shared. “She reminds me of the change that’s possible when community steps in.”

ĒMA reports a 95% family preservation rate, with 80% of moms increasing financial stability. While foster care costs the state an estimated $38,850 annually per child, ĒMA preserves families for just $2,575—proving that prevention is both powerful and cost-effective.
