Local Credit Union Dedicates Hundreds of Hours to Community Events and Volunteering

FORT MILL, SOUTH CAROLINA / ACCESS Newswire / January 14, 2026 / Sharonview Federal Credit Union is proud to highlight the philanthropic impact its teams have made across North and South Carolina in 2025. Sharonview's staff engaged in over 100 events and workshops, supported dozens of local nonprofits, and contributed nearly $30,000 to nonprofits in their footprint. Their pillars of alleviating hunger and homelessness and promoting mental health awareness drove many of their initiatives to build more resilient communities through service, outreach, and partnership.

This culminated in Sharonview team members devoting hundreds of volunteer hours across more than 70 community engagement events and over 70 financial literacy workshops. Additionally, the team donated more than 5,000 school supply items and 1,300 personal hygiene products to local communities in need.

Many of these efforts focused on high-impact initiatives, including supporting the United Way Cleveland County's "My Home Library Project," participating in Second Harvest's "Empty Bowls" luncheon, and partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County and the Carolinas Credit Union League on local housing projects. The Sharonview team also joined the Work on Wilmington cleanup effort and met with residents while promoting financial wellness at the NC Blueberry Festival and SC Pecan Festival, among others.
