Asset Nightfall: Digital Rebellion is a standalone prequel in the Wild Frontier Chronicles series. Set in the late 24th century, the novel follows Kerstin Ahlers, a brilliant hacker turned coerced intelligence operative who carries an AI device called the Orpheus Shadow fused to her nervous system. Her handlers send her to a space station to steal quantum encryption protocols, and her way in is through her own cousin. With a criminal syndicate closing in, fellow operatives with shifting loyalties, and an AI companion evolving beyond its programming, Kerstin faces a collapsing timeline and a choice between completing the mission that keeps her enslaved or risking everything on family and freedom.

Daniel P. Douglas is the pen name for identical twins Phil and Paul Garver, both of whom reside in the Albuquerque, New Mexico area. Phillip is a U.S. Army veteran who also served as a senior analyst in the U.S. Intelligence Community before retiring from federal service in 2023. Paul's career includes over 30 years in the museum profession, with roles at cultural and historic sites in California and Virginia, as well as the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. He currently works as a mental health counselor.

The Wild Frontier Chronicles series continues with additional installments planned for 2026.
