Bethesda, Maryland Nov 17, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - To boost entrepreneurship for everyone in the DMV (Washington, DC / Maryland / Virginia region), including the underserved, the Center for Advancing Innovation (CAI) has launched "Spicy Innovation" entrepreneurship soirees. Spicy Innovation will be a series of in-person events featuring private global health companies which will present to local investors for funding. Spicy Innovation events will be held at select restaurants in Washington, DC in and around the Ward 4 Opportunity Zone, near the former Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) campus and the new Children's National Research & Innovation Campus. CAI is orchestrating Spicy Innovation with continued support from the United States Economic Development Administration Build to Scale Program and Resonance Philanthropies of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation.

Rosemarie Truman, Founder, and CEO of CAI said, "By hosting Spicy Innovation in and around Ward 4, CAI will be better positioned to achieve the ambitious goals that we set for our Global Health Innovation Challenge (GHIC). Spicy Innovation will shine a light on underestimated talent in the DMV, attract capital to the region, and connect some of the most impactful entrepreneurs and investors in the region to advance technologies that can make our world healthier." Spicy Innovation will also highlight exciting Ward 4 restaurants and restaurateurs who have blazed entrepreneurial trails for years using their cultural backgrounds as the backdrop.

CAI is signing up innovative restaurants to hold Spicy Innovation events, and inviting presenting companies and investors to attend. Spicy Innovation will be intimate and most selective with no more than two presenting companies and five investors per event.
