Meet Rachel Lauren – New Age Influencer, Adoptive Advocate, and DEI Change Agent

By: Get News
Adoptive mom, Black life activist, and accomplished entrepreneur, Rachel Lauren is redefining what it means to be a conscious social justice influencer.

By profession Rachel is a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion practitioner and Human Resources executive. She is a founder and managing partner for Diversified, a boutique DEI consulting firm. Rachel also serves as the Senior Director of People and Culture for Van Jones non-profit organization Dream Corps.

“My passion for people and for promoting racial and gender equality is what inspires me to apply my talents to make a difference in multiple arenas from foster care to holistic wellness, from culture to career opportunities,” explains Rachel.

Rachel is determined to use her position as an established businesswoman and influencer to expand consciousness around the systemic racism that continues to plague society.

“As a Black and Afro Latina woman I’ve always understood the complexities of society and the need to understand communities and cultures within the professional world. But contrary to popular perception, I believe social media can be a tool for advocacy and activism, for righting historical wrongs, and speaking out against racial injustice,” continues supermom Rachel.

As a proud mom of three adopted children, Rachel is also no stranger to the challenges facing parents within the foster to adopt space, and more specifically how Black and Brown children and families are impacted by the sector’s innate biases.

“Wellness is another area that’s subject to the systemic disadvantages that too often prevent minorities from accessing holistic treatments and the knowledge they need to make informed decisions regarding their health. That’s why I’m using my platform @TheOnlyRachel to share my insights and promote awareness of healthy alternatives and remedies,” adds Rachel.

“We are taught to pick a lane and stay in it. I don’t fit in one lane, and I refuse to try. I belong in conversations influencing equity, in rooms determining the growth of our foster care system, at tables discussing the importance of holistic health, and in arenas fighting for women’s rights,” concludes Rachel.
