October 25, 2021

Priory Polishes is a supplier of traditional restoration materials, including polishes, wax finishers, revivers, and much more, in Lancashire. This small family business has recently been run by two young business owners who aim to bring a new awareness of recycling and restoring, to help everyone, customers and otherwise, in the fight to reduce waste.

Ruby and Isabel Driscoll, ages 18 and 21 respectively, are taking an active role in running the business, including owning it alongside their father, selling products to revive, restore and recycle furniture and other items around the home. Recently, they have started to raise awareness of how much homeowners can do to bring their favourite furniture and other houseware items back to great condition through a series of articles and guides that highlight different aspects of restoration and recycling.

They aim to help those homeowners who want to reduce the amount of waste that goes to the landfill and to lower their carbon input by giving specific information and guides that shows how to do it themselves. Recent examples involve posts that detail how to strip wood, how to repair and restore gilding, how to care for leather, and how to clean brass handles. Despite being a very small family firm, the team at Priory Polishes is hoping to make a difference in how people think to renovate and revive rather than throw away and buy new.
