Effects of the 2011 Earthquake off the Pacific Coast of Tohoku
Makita Corporation wishes to express its heartfelt sympathy for all people affected by the Pacific Ocean Earthquake near the Tohoku region of Japan which occurred on March 11, 2011.
We hereby announces the situation effected by the earthquake as set forth below.
     1. Employees
We confirmed all of our employees safe.
     2. Physical damages
Some branches have been damaged by earthquake, but not severe.
Since our domestic production facilities and many of suppliers are concentrated in and around Aichi Prefecture, the production activity is largely unaffected at present.
     3. Impact on Our Business Results
We are currently investigating the impact on our business result effected by the earthquake. If we anticipate significant impact on our current fiscal year business results, such impact will be promptly announced as necessary.
