On September 14, 2009, Protalix BioTherapeutics, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release
announcing the completion of its pivotal Phase III trial of prGCD, the Company’s proprietary
plant-cell expressed recombinant form of glucocerebrosidase (GCD) for the treatment of Gaucher
disease. The Company also announced that the proposed brand name for prGCD is UPLYSO™. A copy of
the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
