[TELECOM ITALIA LOGO] PRESS RELEASE TELECOM ITALIA: FIRST 2001 SECURITIZATION TRANCHE RENEWED Rome, 22 January 2003 - Telecom Italia announces the renewal of its initial 100 million euro tranche of asset-backed securities issued on 29 June 2001 under the Telecom Italia SpA telephone bill securitization programme, through the TI Securitisation Vehicle company. Payment is scheduled for 24 January. In consequence, the aggregate total in circulation under this Programme will remain unaltered. The initial issue was structured in three tranches for a total of 700 million euros. The first tranche of 100 million euros, maturing over 18 months - renewed today - falls due on 25 January; this was followed by a second 3-year 150 million euro issue and a third 450 million euro 5-year issue. Capital repayment of this latest issue, which is top rated by Moody's, Standard & Poor's and Fitch, is scheduled for 26 July 2004 (18 months). The issue, offering an all-in yield of Euribor 3M + 24 base points, has attracted a great deal of interest from investors.
