Quarterly earnings conference call scheduled for October 14, 2003.

The Board of Directors of Umpqua Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: UMPQ) today announced a cash dividend of $.04 per share payable on October 14, 2003 to all shareholders of record as of September 30, 2003.Umpqua Holdings Corporation will conduct a quarterly earnings conference call Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. PST where the Company will discuss third quarter results and provide an update on recent activities.
