Response To Inquiry Relating To Press Reports

 

1. Title: Response to inquiry from the Korea Exchange relating to press reports of a tender offer to acquire Korea Exchange Bank

 

2. Response: Kookmin Bank is not currently pursuing a tender offer for shares of Korea Exchange Bank. Kookmin Bank will provide an update of any future change in the status of this matter by no later than January 16, 2009 (and, if a definitive decision regarding this matter is made by Kookmin Bank prior to such date, it will provide an update immediately upon such decision).
