Leamington, Ontario, 16 March 2020 – Wavedirect Telecommunications Inc. today announced the acquisition of G1 Broadband, and Ontario based rural telecommunications provider.
The new acquisition of G1 Broadband positions Wavedirect for continued growth in Rural Essex County Ontario, including new fiber internet expansions and the launch of Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) services.
G1 Broadband is headquartered in Harrow, Ontario, and operates a network that includes more than five main fixed wireless towers providing services to roughly five hundred customers, which includes cable customers.
As a result of this agreement, Wavedirect will acquire all of G1 Broadband’s operations and customers in the Amherstburg and Harrow areas.
WaveDirect’s Rural High-Speed Internet Plans differ from the more commonly used connections like DSL and fiber optic cable. Instead of using a cable, the internet signal is sent via a fixed wireless signal which is transmitted from a tower station directly to a local dish on the property.
Internet service through WaveDirect is available throughout Windsor and Essex County and is in the process of being expanded to Chatham-Kent.
