Austin homebuilding executive Shay Brinkley will serve as President of the Newmark Homes Austin division, overseeing the company’s local operations. “Shay brings an extraordinary amount of experience to Newmark,” said Mike Moody, Chairman and CEO of Newmark Homes. “We worked together at Newmark in the 1990s through the mid-2000’s and during that time, I gained a great deal of respect for his ability to build teams. We are very excited to be reuniting with Shay.”

Brinkley started with Newmark Homes in 1993 as a Building Superintendent, and during his Newmark tenure served as Project Manager, Construction Manager, Division Manager of Newmark’s custom home division, Vice President of Operations in Dallas and Regional Vice President of Supply Chain Management. More recently, Brinkley has served as an executive at Grand Haven Homes and Brookfield Residential.

Newmark Homes built in the Austin area for more than two decades before ceasing operations in 2009 when the company transitioned from being owned by a public company to a privately held, Houston-based firm.

“We had an excellent reputation in the Austin area and we were a sales leader in the market,” Moody said. “We have focused our efforts in Houston over the past decade with great success and believe the timing is right for our return to Austin.”

Newmark will offer locally designed floor plans by award-winning Kipp Flores Architects in Lakeway’s Rough Hollow community on 55-, 63- and 78-foot wide homesites. Pricing will start in the mid $400,000s. Also in Lake Travis ISD, Newmark will also offer new homes for 50- and 65-foot homesites in Austin’s Provence community. Prices there will start in the mid $300,000 and go into the $500,000s. Model homes will be open later this month in both communities.

Newmark Homes boasts a nearly 40-year history and is among the nation’s largest homebuilders, ranked at No. 104 in Builder magazine’s 2019 list of the most active builders and reported 410 closings in 2019, an increase of 6 percent from the previous year.

The company has earned a spot among Houston’s Top Workplaces for seven consecutive years, ranking No. 6 among all small companies on the 2019 list published by the Houston Chronicle. The list was calculated via responses from surveys completed by company employees. Newmark currently employs 85 people.

In 2019, Newmark Homes also earned 13 awards at the Houston’s Best PRISM Awards presented by the Greater Houston Builders Association — including best-of-the-best Grand Awards for Volume Builder of the Year and Promotions. It was the second year in the row for Newmark to win the award for Builder of the Year.

Newmark Homes builds in nine communities throughout Houston priced from the $240,000s to more than $1 million. For more information, visit http://newmarkhomes.com.
