Cheaper gas caps consumer inflation in August, CPI shows, but price pressures appear to be rising

Falling oil prices kept consumer inflation in check in August, but higher prices for staples such as health care, rent and airplane fares are putting more stress on the finances of U.S. households. The consumer price index rose 0.1% last month.
