WellSky Celebrates Grand Opening of New World Headquarters and Announces Inaugural WellSky Foundation Recipient

WellSky, a leading health and community care technology company, today opened its new world headquarters in Overland Park, Kansas. The company welcomed its partners, executive leadership team, local employees, and community members for a festive grand opening day that included a ribbon cutting ceremony emceed by FOX4 anchor Loren Halifax and the announcement of Midland Care Connection, an integrated health care services provider, as the inaugural recipient of a $50,000 donation from the WellSky Foundation.

With its new world headquarters, WellSky will continue expanding its workforce and supporting its wide network of clients and partners making a difference in their communities. The grand opening event included several prominent speakers from the Kansas City area community — including Overland Park Mayor Carl Gerlach, Block Real Estate Services Managing Principal Ken Block, WellSky CEO Bill Miller, WellSky executives, WellSky Foundation Executive Director Andrea Morgan, and Midland Care Vice President of Strategic Initiatives Zach Ahrens.

“The opening of WellSky’s new world headquarters is another key milestone in our company’s long legacy of innovation, and our new space will better accommodate the needs of our clients and our dedicated employees,” said Miller. “Our rapidly growing workforce will now have more resources to develop industry-transforming health and community care solutions in our state-of-the-art space that inspires progress, innovation, and success for the clients we serve.”

WellSky will occupy the entire CityPlace Corporate Centre III building, developed by Block Real Estate Services. WellSky’s new headquarters includes a Client Experience Center, which brings to life the transformative work WellSky does for clients every day and serves as a welcoming space for employees to host a range of visitors.

At the grand opening, the WellSky Foundation shared its vision for a world where people in need can receive whole-person care. Financially supporting community organizations like Midland Care helps bring that vision to life. The WellSky Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to improving quality of life for vulnerable populations by removing social barriers to better health outcomes — focusing on the top four socioeconomic factors with the greatest impact on a person’s long-term well-being: housing, food insecurity, transportation, and isolation.

Midland Care addresses a range of socioeconomic needs for people in its community, and they provide care services across the continuum — including hospice, home health, private duty, palliative care, adult day care, PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly), Meals on Wheels, and grief counseling services. Midland Care will use the WellSky Foundation’s donation to renovate rooms in their inpatient hospice facility, the Midland Care Hospice House, which has served more than 6,100 patients and families over the last 20 years.

“With this generous gift from the WellSky Foundation, we are touching more lives,” said Ahrens. “At Midland Care, we respond to our community’s most challenging care needs by offering a continuum of services that meet individual needs with innovative solutions and ensure that people are met with hope, comfort, and support. This gift allows us to ensure grace and dignity for our loved ones and their families when they need it most.”

The WellSky Foundation will announce its second recipient at its annual user conference, CareForum, in Kansas City this September. The foundation will also name a third recipient before the end of the year.
