NIRI-Chicago Elects 2019-2020 Officers and Directors, Congratulates Chapter Members for NIRI National Recognition

The Chicago Chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI-Chicago) has elected 12 officers and directors to its board for the 2019-2020 term, effective July 1.

“Our Chicago chapter continues to be one of the largest and most active chapters in the NIRI organization,” said Terri Anne Powers, incoming chapter president. “We’re committed to providing a variety of professional development and dynamic networking opportunities to our members, starting with a Chicago Cubs outing this August and our flagship event, the full-day IR Workshop, on September 20. I look forward to working with a strong team of board members who devote countless hours to help make NIRI-Chicago an outstanding chapter.”

The NIRI-Chicago Chapter board members for 2019-2020:

Officers

President and Co-Vice President, Programs: Terri Anne Powers, vice president, investor relations at Diplomat Pharmacy, Inc. (NYSE: DPLO). Powers has served as NIRI-Chicago vice president of programs, director, co-chair of the 2014 IR Workshop and NIRI Annual Conference Committee member.

Executive Vice President: Victor J. Jendras, managing director, Q4 Inc. Jendras was vice president of programs on the NIRI-Chicago board for the past two years and an IR Workshop committee member in 2018 and 2019.

Chairman and Co-Vice President, Programs: Elizabeth R. Allen, CFA, staff director, investor relations, FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX). Allen has served as NIRI-Chicago president, executive vice president, vice president of membership and NIRI Annual Conference Committee member. She is a member of the NIRI Senior Roundtable.

Vice President, Communications: Maryellen T. Thielen, APR, ABC, president, Forest Glen Communications LLC. Thielen earlier was a NIRI-Chicago chairman, president and executive vice president.

Vice President, Membership: Shep Dunlap, vice president of investor relations, Mondelēz International (NASDAQ: MDLZ). Dunlap is a director on the NIRI national board and member of the NIRI Senior Roundtable, was co-chair of the 2015 NIRI Annual Conference Committee and has served on the NIRI-Chicago IR Workshop committee.

Vice President, Treasurer: Ruth E. Venning, executive director, investor relations, Horizon Therapeutics (NASDAQ: HZNP). Venning is a director on the NIRI national board, former NIRI Annual Conference Committee member and NIRI Senior Roundtable member. She previously was a NIRI-Chicago chairman, president, executive vice president, vice president of programs, communications and membership, and IR Workshop chair.

Vice President, Sponsorship: Christine J. Hanneman, principal, Professional Communications Specialists. Hanneman has managed the chapter’s sponsorship program since 2012 and earlier served as vice president, treasurer.

Directors

Martin A. Jarosick, CFA, IRC, vice president of investor relations, CF Industries Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CF). This is Jarosick’s first year on the NIRI-Chicago board. He previously was a director on the NIRI Atlanta board and served on the 2019 NIRI Annual Conference Committee.

Heather Anne Kos, CPA, IRC, vice president of investor relations, Univar Solutions (NYSE: UNVR). This is Kos’ first year on the NIRI-Chicago board. Kos is currently a member of NIRI’s Certification Council, IR Update Editorial Advisory Committee and chair of the IR council of the Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation.

Victoria Sivrais, founding partner, Clermont Partners. Sivrais previously was a NIRI-Chicago chairman, president, executive vice president, programs co-chair, treasurer and IR Workshop chair. Sivrais chaired the 2018 NIRI Annual Conference Committee and served on the 2016 and 2015 conference committees.

Michael A. Steele, CFA, IRC, vice president of investor relations, Zebra Technologies (NASDAQ: ZBRA). Steele previously served on the NIRI-Chicago board, and was a speaker at NIRI’s 2019 annual conference and NIRI-Chicago events.

Heather J. Wietzel, IRC, vice president of investor relations, Horace Mann (NYSE: HMN). This is Wietzel’s first year on the NIRI-Chicago board. She earlier served as president of the NIRI Cincinnati Tri-State chapter.

Departing Directors: The chapter extends its gratitude to departing directors:

  • Dee Johnson, Supporting Strategies
  • Leslie H. Kratcoski, IRC, GMS Inc.
  • Larry Larsen, Lincoln Churchill Advisors.

NIRI National Recognition

Elizabeth Saunders, partner, Clermont Partners and founder, Commodore Intelligence, was named to the 2019 NIRI Fellows class in April in recognition of her leadership, integrity, involvement and contributions to the investor relations profession.

Jeremy Cohen, vice president, investor relations and financial communications, Edelman, joined NIRI's first class of 40 Under 40 honorees in May. This program recognizes young professionals who have made noticeable contributions to their companies, communities, NIRI and the IR profession.
