NewMarket Corporation Approves a New Stock Repurchase Authorization

The Board of Directors of NewMarket Corporation (NYSE:NEU) approved a new share repurchase program and authorized management to repurchase up to $500 million of NewMarket’s outstanding common stock effective January 1, 2019 until December 31, 2021, as market conditions warrant and covenants under our existing debt agreements permit. NewMarket may conduct the share repurchases from time to time in the open market at prevailing market prices, in privately negotiated transactions, through block trades or pursuant to any trading plan that may be adopted in accordance with Rule 10b5-1 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. The repurchase program does not require NewMarket to acquire any specific number of shares and may be terminated or suspended at any time.

This new authorization replaces NewMarket’s prior share repurchase program, which expires on December 31, 2018.
