Poets&Quants for UndergradsTM Names Best Undergraduate Business Schools in Exclusive Rankings

Comprehensive study ranks top 88 business programs based on admissions standards, academic experience, and career outcomes

OAKLAND, CA, December 13, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Poets&Quants for Undergrads, the leading online publication for undergraduate business education news, unveiled its third annual Best Undergraduate Business Schools 2018 rankings. Considered the most comprehensive assessment of undergraduate business programs, the data revealed the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania as the #1 business school in the country for the second year in a row.

Poets&Quants for Undergrads compiled the 2018 exclusive rankings based on a representative survey of nearly 13,000 alumni and school-reported data. Students across the 88 schools were surveyed on aspects of admissions standards, academic experience, and career outcomes – each weighted equally. This data doesn't exist together anywhere else in the world. The rankings showed that the top school, Wharton, has an average graduate total compensation over $92,000, and a 96% employment rate within three months of graduation.

"This was the most competitive ranking that we have seen since the launch of the ranking three years ago," said Nathan Allen, project manager. "The schools ranked between No. 10 Berkeley Haas though No. 15 Emory Goizueta were all separated by merely 1.06 in their composite score. The competition in the higher tier was fierce, stressing the importance of undergraduate business programs across the board.

"Our annual ranking and comprehensive coverage of this market is an invaluable resource for students and parents to make informed decisions about where to get the best education for a successful career in business."

Rounding out the top 10 undergraduate business school programs are:
1. University of Pennsylvania (Wharton)
2. University of Virginia (McIntire)
3. Washington University in St. Louis (Olin)
4. University of Michigan (Ross)
5. University of Notre Dame (Mendoza)
6. New York University (Stern)
7. Cornell University (Dyson)
8. Villanova University
9. Boston College (Carroll)
10. University of California-Berkeley (Haas)

Developed in collaboration with business school deans and administrators, Poets&Quants for Undergrads' ranking methodology is based equally on admissions standards, academic experience, and career outcomes. No other ranking or school survey asks for the same amount of concrete data, ranging from the percent of National Merit Scholars at each business school, to the percentage of students with global experience while at the school, to average debt upon graduation.
