Furniture Store In Southern Maryland Featured On The Oprah Winfrey Show

By: Get News

Leonardtown, MD – In November of 2014 Lola Belle, a niche furniture store in St. Mary’s County of Southern Maryland, was selected to be a part of the Oprah Winfrey show. The pride of their small town, Lola Belle was featured on the popular show as they helped design a home for one of Oprah’s friends, Iyanla Vanzant. The boutique store enjoyed a prime opportunity to showcase their interior design skills, and a chance to meet Oprah, Iyanla, and Nate Berkus. The design team is happy to continue their small town fame in Leonardtown, where they bring their interior design ideas to local homes.

Lola Belle Co., a locally owned and operated boutique furniture store in Southern Maryland was selected to aid in the furnishing of a new home for Iyanla Vanzant, host of the popular reality show, Iyanla Fix My Life. A huge honor for any company, the call was especially important to Lola Belle, being a small town store rather than a big department chain. The furnished home for Iyanla was a gift from her close friend, Oprah Winfrey, and the reveal was aired on her network on Saturday, November 29th. The Lola Belle team had a phenomenal time doing what they love, and becoming a temporary part of the Nate Berkus design team, headed by Veronica of LA Design Hunters. Through this opportunity, Lola Belle was able to showcase a selection of affordable interior design packages and styles to viewers everywhere, gaining recognition for their company and their expertise.

Now back home with their thriving boutique furniture store, the team of Lola Belle Co. continues to provide Southern Maryland homes with furniture, window treatments, area rugs, accents, and everything in between. The company enlists a talented team of designers to assist local residents with all of their accent and design needs, whether they walk into the store with an idea in mind or none at all. In keeping with some Oprah Winfrey examples, Lola Belle continues to be active in their community, now more than ever. Lola Belle is known in St. Mary’s County for their highly active charity work and their interaction with the local community at large. And it’s no surprise, considering that owner Amy Thompson developed her small business on a foundation of family, naming the company in honor of her own family.

“The opportunity we were given with the Oprah Winfrey show was amazing, and it allowed us to show the world that we have what it takes to go toe to toe with the big guys,” jokes Amy Thompson, founder and owner of Lola Belle Co. “It was a lot of fun getting to meet people that we look up to, and actually getting to work side by side with them. Coming home from that event was just as impressive as being invited in the first place; a lot of the town stopped in to welcome us home and tell us how excited they were for our team. Even though it’s been some time, we all still carry that experience with us, and we use it to remember how far we’ve come, and how far we can still go with a little commitment.”

Lola Belle Co. of Southern Maryland is a boutique furniture store dedicated to helping local residents bring their interior design ideas to life. The company is highly active in their local community through charities and other events. Their time with the Oprah Winfrey show has been an inspiring experience that they continue to bring to their everyday business.
