On July 9, 2007, the Board elected Gloster B. Current, Jr. as a director of A. O. Smith Corporation (“the Company”). Mr. Current was also appointed a member of the Board’s Audit Committee. The Company issued a news release on July 9, 2007, announcing the election of Gloster B. Current, Jr. A copy of the Company’s news release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K (this “Current Report”) and is incorporated by reference herein.
